Course Description:

Grade Level: 11-12

Materials:

  • Composition book
  • Pencil - use pencil only on all assignments
  • Calculator – 4 function calculator only

*Bring all materials to class daily.

Rules/Expectations:

  • Respect
    • Respect yourself.
    • Respect others.
    • Respect property (yours and others)
  • Be on time and prepared.
    • Be seated before tardy bell rings.
    • Bring materials to class every day.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

 

Tutorials:

  • Before School: Monday – Friday from 7:30 to 7:45 (except Tuesdays)
  • Break: Monday –Friday (except on Tuesdays, pep rally days, assemblies or during UIL)

If you have trouble with a concept, you need to come in for tutorials IMMEDIATELY.

 

Grading:

Nine Weeks Grades

  • 40% Test (including but not limited to test and projects)
  • 40% Daily (including but not limited to class work, homework, quizzes, participation)
  • 20% Nine Weeks Test

Homework:

Homework will be assigned daily and is also posted on the web page. Work must be shown on all assignments.  If there is no work, there is no credit.

 Late Work:

If you do not have your homework, you may turn in homework by 7:45 the next morning for a maximum grade of a 70. If you do not bring it to me by 7:45, then the homework will not be accepted.  Projects will not be accepted late. Please refer to guidelines in Student Handbook.

Make-Up Work:

  • Student is responsible for getting make-up work before/after school and during break.
  • Student is responsible for attending tutorials to receive assistance.
  • If you leave for Extra- Curricular activities work must be turned in before you leave!
  • Cheating results in a zero for the assignment/test/quiz and disciplinary actions.
  • When the tardy bell sounds, the classroom doors are closed.  The student must remain in the hallway until the 10 minute bell rings.  School policy will be strictly followed. Assignments due at the beginning of class will be considered late if you are tardy.
  • Extra time will not be given during class.

Failing Assignments:

Per Policy: Any assignment failed, you must have the opportunity to bring the failing grade up to a maximum of a 70. If you fail a homework or daily assignment, it is your (student) responsibility to come see me about an alternate assignment by the end of the class period so I can arrange the alternate assignment for you. The grade you make on the alternate assignment is the final grade for the assignment. If you retake a test (not a nine weeks test or a project), then you must attend tutorials with me to help you with your corrections before the day of the re-test. A re-test will be given on an announced day.  If the student does not come in for tutorials and/or make the necessary corrections, they will not be allowed to retake the test.
