I began teaching English and coaching tennis, basketball and football at Fairfield HS in 1986.

After leaving coaching in 1989, I taught ELA courses until I became the assistant principal at Fairfield HS in 1991.

I also teach Dual Credit English at Fairfield HS; this year will be my 12th year to do so.

I began teaching and coaching women's basketball at McMurry University while a senior at the school in 1973, by beginning that program from scratch.  Wayland Baptist University named me the men's assistant coach for basketball in 1974.  Then, I went to coach basketball and football at Jefferson Junior High in 1975 while working on my M.Ed. at ACU.  In 1976 I became the youngest head men's basketball coach in the nation at Cisco Junior College and teaching four sections of English simultaneously.  After that I went to Donna High School in 1979 to be the boys' head basketball coach and an English instructor, then to James Pace HS to coach basketball (in 1983 the team won its first district championship at the school and the first in the city after 50 years of failure) and teach English in 1981, and from there to Mission Sharyland as their head basketball coach (won two district championships in basketball) and world history instructor.  I left Mission Sharyland to come to Fairfield in 1986.

I married Kimberly Kimbrell in the summer of 1973, fathered a daughter, Amanda, in 1979, and a son, Joshua, in 1984.  Amanda currently works at Fairfield Junior High and has a 12 year old daughter, Alyssa Williams, and a 7 year old daughter, Kaylee Williams.

Joshua works as a network security specialist for Firehost in Dallas.

My main intersets are in my church and my family (especially with grandchildren).
