This is my second year as an ag teacher, and I am super excited to be back at my alma mater. This year I will be teaching Greenhouse Operations, Advanced Plant Soil Science, Advanced Floral Design, Small Animal Management, and Equine Science.
After graduating from Tarleton State University, I was a livestock pharmacetuical salesperson in Weatherford, Texas for three years before moving to the Texas Panhandle working as a feedyard computer accounting client tech specialst. During my young career avenues I learned quickly the importance of education in the agricultrure industry, and I could not pick a better place to help the next greneration of agricultutists.
I married Jimmy Sorrell from Amarillo, Tx on January 22, 2022.
Through our business Sorrell Cowhorses LLC, Jimmy trains cowhorses for the public.
We have a mini blue heeler named Holly, and a short legged Jack Russell named Liberty!
Besides growing up on a cattle and horse operation, I gained much of my knowledge during my four years of being an active Ag and FFA student at FHS. From showing several species of livestock locally and at majors, being on chapter and district level officer teams, and competing on several judging and leadership teams, agriculture has truly been the center of my life since I was born. After graduating from FHS in 2014, I attended Weatherford College on a rodeo scholarship then graduated from Tarleton State University in 2018. During my professional career I have sold livestock pharmaceuticals and also assisted in computer system feedyard accounting before returning to FHS. I have worked closely with farmers, ranchers, teachers, veterinarians, and people from all walks of life. I have, and continue to learn so much and thoroughly enjoy everything about the agriculture industry. God has truly blessed me, and I cannot imagine doing anything else, or being able to serve in a better school district and community. I have a true passion for helping others in the industry we all love, serve, and grow.
