Physics and Biology Instructor
I graduated from Fairfield High School in 2002 and Texas A&M University in 2006.
My B.A. is in Anthropology with a Biological emphasis. I then earned my alternative certification in Science 4-8th from Texas A&M University at Commerce. After teaching 8th grade Science for 3 years, I moved to the High School. I taught Earth and Space Science for a few years, then moved on to Physics and Honors Physics. The 2019-2020 school year will be my first year not coaching cross-country and track and I have added Pre-AP Biology to the list of courses I teach.
I began teaching in 2007 at Fairfield Junior High. The 2020-2021 school year will be my 14th year of teaching, all at Fairfield ISD. I also coached cross-country and track for 12 years! I currently teach Pre-AP Biology, Physics, and Physics Honors.
I enjoy reading, hiking, and traveling; another one of my passions is long-distance running. Cross-Country and Track have a tradition of excellence at Fairfield High School. As the Head Cross-Country Coach for 9 years, I was privileged to have 8 Varsity girls teams advance to the State Meet, and 5 of those teams were also Regional Champions. The 2019-2020 school year was my first year not coaching, and my first year taking on Pre-AP Biology. My bachelor's degree from Texas A&M is in Biological Anthropology so I love Biology. I know the upcoming 2020-2021 school year may look different due to COVID but I’m willing to rise to the challenge. Please don’t hesitate to contact me by email if you have any questions.
